The one with the fantasy-esque paintscheme for the Sea People.

It's been a while since the last post and even tho I have been puttering around a bit here and there, no real progress has been made until today. Life gets in the way and when the "in the way"-part is about other hobbies and leisures there is little point in moaning about it I guess.

I really do wish the DBA-portion of this army was done so I could shelf the models and move on to more, let's say, exciting projects. [insert rant from a previous post on speedpainting models with alot of details].
Don't know which project I'd pick, but if I actually finish up my 6mm french and german tanks I could even go as far as to start something completely new.
You know, as a treat. *rolls eyes at self*

I finally got the paintscheme down and decided on a basing for the army, which in many cases is half the battle for me when it comes to the hobby aspect of wargaming.
After the fact, I can more or less shut off my brain and just grind away at the project.
The indecisiveness (yeah, had to google how to spell it :P) before everything gets dialed in is very draining as it makes my symtoms worse when it comes to my health-issues. It's however fascinating to watch the process as an outside spectator, as I am kinda used to how I function in the "new normal".
Both how I slowly get back functions that got lost and how different things affect me in a way they didn't before. I say "outside spectator" because I honestly don't have a better way to describe it. Someone who is used to being mindful in everyday life knows what I mean, as it's pretty much a result of learning "mindfullness" as it were.

Anyhow, here we have a few elements of the wetboiz.
While I have quite a few sources for colors and equipment for the Sea Peoples, be it the Osprey books or various magazine articles, I have tossed them out of the window.
Again, detail vs. reasonable amount of work into a side-project of 300-400 models in the end. I think they look plausible for what I am depicting, even tho I don't go into great lengths to make everything pop with this simple scheme. If nothing else I'll claim freedom of artistic expression.

The units/models that are of lower status (as in everything apart from 4Bd's) are gonna get one washed-out color each on the trim of their clothes as we go along. Im thinking blue on the 3Bd warriors.
This should translate nicely over to DBMM as I expand the army.

Armoured Cheiftains with Retinue. 4Bd.

Teresh Javelinmen. Ps.

General in chariot, gonna play it as LCh and paint a HCh down the line.

Thanks for reading my ramblings and feel free to weigh in on my paintscheme.

Cheers
/Fred

Ps. I looked at the picture of the LCh after posting and really gotta go back and highlight the straps on the horsies.
Back to The Factorium!
