The one where I plan for Baycon.

 WIP-update; reader beware.

This saturday it's time for Baycon down in Västervik. Me and the other Johan are heading down there for the day and I am really excited for it. He to demo Emperor of the Gaels together with the other devs from Triturus Games, myself to run a demo-table of Hordes of the Things.

Thought I'd make a quick journal-style blogpost for my own benefit and post a wip-pic aswell as the army-lists I plan on bringing.

Here's a somewhat blurry pic of what I should get done and bring with me.
A Stronghold for the undead army. It's a FDM-printed 15mm-scale model from the KS Hell Of Terrain, one of several peices that came in the kit. I got it primarly to build a 28mm Grimdark tabletop with, but I have since put those plans on the backburner. They are more likely to become a epic-sized table instead. (Got some 3rd Legion boiz cooking in the printer as we speak ;))

FDM-printing for 15mm scale is....
..Nah, not worth the hassle really.
The striations left by the layers even at 0.1mm layerheigth clashes a bit to much with the model-scale in my opinion, so resin is really where it's at in that scale and lower. When I get a spraybooth setup for the winter I will start using spray-filler on all terrain regardless of scale and that might make me revise my opinion. In either case, this one is made smoother by 3-4 layers of adhesive laquer (Danalim Limlakk) which I swear by as a PVA-glue alternative.

The Camp is from another KS-campaign which I will use for a BUA in DBMM when I get around to it. For now I used parts of it to make the SH for my Gothic Cult. In hindsight I should have printed it at somewhere around 5-10mm scale as opposed to 15mm as it is now. As I am typing this, I realise that it could probably be rescued by just using smaller (and more) tents to give an impression of a bigger camp.
I won't have the time until Baycon, but I will refrain from gluing the tents in place for now.

In the background, a new Airship for the Sky People. The last one just looks meh due to being to big. For this I added the sail from the Sea People-kits ship as I remixed the ship itself.
It would look cooler with some smol dudes on it, so that's gonna be added later aswell. I should remember them as I print the new tents I guess...
There is a horde of Scarabs next to it, mainly to round out the points in the army, but I guess as a throwaway flanker tactically aswell.

My planned lists for Baycon are as follows:

Count Ciphers Re-Animatrons
12 AP breakpoint

Count Cipher
1 Hero: 4 AP

Animated Oliphant
1 Behemoth: 4 AP

Skullchucker
1 Artillery: 3 AP

Skeletal Masses
6 Blades: 2 AP ea.

Spooky Swarm
1 Horde: 1 AP

---------------------

The Sky People
12 AP breakpoint

King Jagalath
1 Hero (chariot): 4 AP

The Genius (Or airship + horde as option)
1 Behemoth: 4 AP

Sky People Raiders
6 Blades: 2 AP ea.

Sky People Javeliners
2 Shooters: 2 AP ea.

------------------------

The Gothic Cult
12 AP breakpoint

Cheiftain Orrguth
Hero: 4 AP

The Deerigo (Or 2 riders as option)
Behemoth: 4 AP

The Warband
6 Warbands: 2 AP ea.

Warhounds
2 Beasts: 2 AP ea.

I have tried to make the armies somewhat different to give some variety while keeping most shennanians out of the lists. The Gothic Cult is probably most straightforward for new wargamers, and the other two has a bit more to offer in variety for more experienced people.
