The one where I start a painting challenge..

.. to work on old projects.
I paint quite alot more that I show on the blog as I have mentioned previously. I forget to take pics and when I do take them, a few weeks pass before I remember I actually took them and they are already kinda obsolete.
To remedy this and the fact that I rarely paint for my forever-favourite era I have devised a plan to get more models on the table.

A Painting Challenge!
For the upcoming... period of undisclosed time *ahem* I will paint one element of 15mm for DBMM.
Per week! *gasp*

For now I will try to focus on getting paint on the reminder of my Gepids (2/71) as I am truly scraping the bottom of the proverbial barrel when it comes to models. Give or take 6 elements of Wb together with a bag of Bg and a Kn or two is what remains.
I have a few printed Bw/Ps and a bag of Gothic Cav for Mortem et Gloriam I picked up dirt cheap on a sale. The latter are quite dwarfish pinheads when compared with the Old Glory models but beggars can't be choosers amrite?

I haven´t decided if I will used them (the goth cav) or not yet since painting them comes with the cost of rebasing the whole army. I am kinda leaning towards that anyway down the line since I would like to  jumble up the models on the Wb-elements for more variety, aswell as shifting my C-in-C/Subs to foot-troops (again to save some Kn models for actual Kn elements). The slog towards 400 AP is a long one if you don´t wanna pay premium for models to be shipped from the states when you don´t like the models in the first place. (Just poor sculpts imo.)
I also kinda have in the back of my mind that I would like to shift the whole army towards an Early German project instead. I believe it would be way more fun to both model and play with.

For now tho, I will just paint and grow a stash of models ready for basing.
First out are two elements of Ps. Not much of a paintjob since they took about 5 mins each (sans dryingtimes), but hey. The goal is just to finish. the. fucking. Gepids.

In the background I have decided on the next elements, two foot-Subs. Even further to the back, a unit of Chasseurs Ardennais in 28mm. Oh, and some 6mm great war Germans I will finish in the upcoming day of two.

I got to sleep at 0200 last night. I was reading Book I for 2 hours straight.

Skythians.
Yum.

As always, feel free to browse around the Factorium for other posts.
Cheers!
